Gujarat government told to install Statue of Unity replicas in schools and Colleges

GUJRAT: District collectors and municipal commissioners across Gujarat has been directed by the Gujarat government to install replicas of the Statue of Unity in several schools and colleges on December 15. The department of home has issued a circular making it mandatory for schools and colleges to install the replicas.

The directive issued, by additional chief secretary (home) Anand Mohan Tiwari, also states that local MPs and MLAs should be invited to the installation events on December 15, the day Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel died in 1950. These replicas were given to various schools and colleges by the state government after the completion of its Ekta Yatra in October.
